The biggest advantage is not simply having more trait icons. Extra slots let you build Sims with layered personalities, competing motivations, realistic weaknesses, and stronger story hooks. A creative perfectionist, ambitious parent, quiet genius, or animal-loving vegetarian can feel much more distinct when you do not have to sacrifice an important trait.
